To get to Camp Bonaventure you need to make flight arrangements to either Gaspe, Quebec or Bathurst, New Brunswick. There are two scheduled flights both to and from each location daily.
Getting to the Lodge: From Gaspe or Bathurst you can rent a car for the two hour drive or the lodge will pick you up. The cost for the transfer is $225 each way. The price is per trip, not per person.
Departure Information: On your departure day you will drive back to Gaspe or Bathurst airport. See itinerary for details.

Approximate Flying Times to Gaspe, Quebec: Los Angeles: 6 hours • Dallas: 4 hours • Miami: 4 hours • New York: 2 hours.

Documentation Requirements:
All travelers who are not Canadian citizens will need a valid US passport to enter Canada and it must be valid for six months after the last day of your trip. We recommend packing a photocopy of your passport in your luggage as a safety precaution.

Currency:
While Canadian currency is the norm, visitors need not exchange money, as US dollars are accepted for gratuities. When spending US dollars in Quebec, all change will be given in Canadian currency.

Travel Cash:
As a guideline we recommend that each guest travels with approximately $500 - $700 for staff & guide gratuities, alcohol, licenses, etc.

Gratuities:
Guide tips average $40+ per angler per day, thus the guides usually receive an $80 tip per day or more. Guide tips can be given at the end of each day or given to management at the end of your stay. Housekeeping tips average $15 per person per day and can be given to the lodge owner or manager at the end of your stay.

Fishing Licenses:
Fishing licenses are available at the lodge. There are two types of licenses in Quebec a Catch and release license at about CAD $10.15 and another that allows an angler to take a fish at approximately CAD $112.00. The lodge strongly promotes catch and release but if someone really wants to take a fish home you would need the kill permit. The price of the fishing license is for the entire season and not on a daily basis. The lodge accepts all major credit cards.

Climate:
The weather on Quebec's Gaspé Peninsula is similar to that of the northeastern United States. Summer temperatures vary from 18-30 Celsius (65-85 Fahrenheit). Water temperatures vary from 7-13 C (45-55 F) in the early and late seasons to 13-18 C (55-65 degrees F) during the mid-summer months.

Medical Facilities:
The nearest medical facility is in the town of Gaspe located about 30 minutes away.

In emergency situations, a charter flight may be required to reach a medical facility. Guests may want to consider medical evacuation coverage. We recommend Global Rescue.

Power and Communications:
A telephone, fax, two computers and high-speed internet access with wireless connection are available for guests’ use.

Clothing:
Warm sweater for cool mornings and evenings, windbreaker or fleece jacket, long and short-sleeved shirts, T-shirts, comfortable pants, warm leggings (for under waders), your favorite fishing hat, wool or insulated socks to wear inside your waders, rain suit or rain jacket.

Laundry:
Laundry is offered to guests on a daily basis and is included in the cost. There is a laundry bag for each guest in their rooms. Your cleaned laundry is back on your bed when you arrive back from fishing.

Beverages/Alcohol:
Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol. The lodge will supply all ice, mix and drink ingredients. Wine is included with dinner. The liquor store in the town of Bonaventure (ten minutes from the lodge) has a very nice selection of beer, liquor and wine. The liquor store is open seven days a week.

Tackle/Equipment List:
Fly Rods: 8 or 9 weight (9 or 9 1/2-foot) fly rods, fast or extra-fast action. Twelve to fifteen foot Spey rods for 9 to 12 weights work very well if preferred.
