Travel Cash:
As a guideline we recommend that each guest travels with approximately $400 - $600 for staff & guide gratuities, alcohol, licenses, etc.

Gratuities:
Gratuities are a personal preference, however guidelines are always helpful. We recommend giving your gratuities to guides each day after fishing. Fishing guide gratuities seem to average around $65-90 per day total. We also recommend leaving about $8-10 per day per guest for the housekeeping staff, which can be left in the cabin at the end of your stay.

Fishing Licenses:
Montana fishing licenses may be purchased on the morning of the first day of your guided fishing. If you prefer to pre-purchase your fishing license you may do so online at:
http://fwp.mt.gov/fishing/license/default.html

You may also purchase your fishing license in Libby at Mac’s Market next door to the guide’s meeting location each morning for the Kootenai floats.

Climate:
Temperatures typically range from the mid 50’s to the mid 90’s. In the summer it is usually quite warm during the day and cool in the evening. However, it is important for guests to be prepared for cold rainy conditions throughout the season.

Medical Facilities:
The closest medical facility is in Libby, Montana, approximately 15 minutes from the lodge. Guests have the responsibility to disclose any special medical, physical, or dietary needs to the lodge ahead of time.

Power and Communications:
The cabins have 24 hour electricity and a local phone. Please bring a calling card with you for making long distance phone calls. There is no internet service available at the cabins.

Cell phone coverage is available in Libby, Montana but not up in Yaak near the cabins.

Clothing:
Outer Garments: Waterproof rain jacket, preferable lightweight and packable. Always carry this with you! Fishing specific Gortex or similar products are best. Layer for changing weather conditions. We recommend quick-drying synthetic materials such as polyester, nylon, etc. Even though you may be visiting in summer it's always a good idea to include a good fleece jacket or similar wind-blocking product. Long-sleeved, quick drying fishing shirts, pants and shorts. Gloves and stocking cap just in case. Gortex waders can be nice on those coolers days in the summer.

Under Garments: Long underwear, top and bottom, at least one pair. Mid-weight, quick drying is most versatile. For cold weather and water, use heavy weight underwear or fleece garments under breathable waders.

Footwear: Sandals for float fishing. Neoprene booties or socks. Non-cotton socks. Smart wool or synthetic fleece is best.

Non-Fishing Attire: Linehan Outfitting Company lodge and cabin settings are very casual and no special attire is necessary. Blue jeans, khakis, shorts, casual shirts, fishing shirts are all common.

Laundry:
The Kootenai River Lodge has laundry facilities available for guests’ use. The Yaak Valley cabins do not have any laundry services. Please pack accordingly.

Beverages/Alcohol:
Please bring your own beer, wine, and alcohol. Libby, Montana has The Liquor Store at 409 E 9th St., Libby, MT – 406.293.4856. The Liquor Store is closed on Sundays, but you may still purchase alcohol at some of the casinos in Libby any day of the week.
