Included / Not Included – 


Included: Accommodations and meals at the lodge, guiding, and flies, fully-stocked bar. The lodge can also provide any tackle that you might need.
Not Included: Transportation to the lodge, fishing license, airport shuttle (if required), and staff and guide gratuities.

Travel Logistics:
Arrival Information
: Ruby Springs Lodge is located just outside of Alder, Montana. If you are flying to the area you will need to make arrangements to fly into Bozeman, Montana or Butte, Montana.
Getting to the Lodge: From Bozeman or Butte you will need to rent a car and drive or hire a shuttle to get to the lodge. Check-in time is 3:00-4:00PM.
Departure Information: On your departure day you will leave the lodge after breakfast. Checkout time is 10 am.

Travel Cash:
As a guideline we recommend that each guest travels with approximately $500 - $700 for staff & guide gratuities, alcohol, licenses, etc.

Gratuities:
Guide gratuities range between $60.00 and $100.00 per day. You can give this to your guide each day or at the end of your stay. House gratuities average about 8% of your package price. House gratuities are pooled and can be given to the lodge manager at the end of the week.

Fishing Licenses:
Fishing licenses are not included in the package. You can purchase a license in Bozeman or Butte before transferring to the lodge.

Fishing licenses are also available online at the following website http://fwp.mt.gov/fishing/license/. Anglers may prefer to purchase their licenses in advance to save time on-site. Please call Fly Water Travel if you need assistance in purchasing your license online.

Climate:
Temperatures typically range from the mid 50’s to the mid 90’s. In the summer it is usually quite warm during the day and cool in the evening. However, it is important for guests to be prepared for cold rainy conditions throughout the season.

Medical Facilities:
The closest medical facility is in Bozeman, approximately 1.5 hours from the lodge. Guests have the responsibility to disclose any special medical, physical, or dietary needs to the lodge ahead of time.

Power and Communications:
There are broadband wireless internet access and laptop computers in all of the cabins.

Clothing:
In the Rockies it is always possible to encounter a wide variety of weather conditions. We recommend that you always come well prepared with different layers including lightweight long sleeve and short-sleeved shirts, fleece top and bottoms, synthetic long underwear, rain jacket, sun and rain hats and fishing gloves. Evening attire at the lodge is casual.

Laundry:
Ruby Springs can provide laundry services at no additional cost. Please let the staff know when you requires these services.

Beverages/Alcohol:
The lodge provides an open bar at no additional cost.

Tackle/Equipment List:
Rods: 9 foot rods for 4 - 6 weight lines.
Lines: Floating lines, weight forward or double tapered.
Reels: Any quality single action fly reel with 50 yards of 20 lb backing.
Leaders: 9 ft to 12 ft leaders in 4x - 6x. Bring additional tippet in the same diameters.
Flies: Dries: Adams Tan and Grey #16-20, Caddis Black and Tan, assorted hoppers in #6. Nymphs: Black Stone #8, Prince #14-18, Bird’s Nest #14-18, AP Black #14-18, Pheasant tails #14-18, Sparkle Pupae tan and green #16-18. Streamers: brown, black, and olive weighted woolley buggers in # 4-8. Note: There is a well-stocked fly shop located at the Lodge and all flies are included in the package.
Waders & Boots: Lightweight breathable waders are recommended. Neoprene socks are recommended when wet wading. Please, no studded wading boots.
