Travel Logistics:
Arrival Information: To get to the South Fork Lodge, you will need to make flight arrangements to and from either Idaho Falls, ID or Jackson, WY.
Getting to the Lodge: South Fork Lodge is about 45 minutes from Idaho Falls and Jackson Hole, WY is approximately a hour and a half away. It is possible for the Lodge to provide a shuttle from either airport if needed.
Departure Information: On your departure day you will leave the lodge after breakfast (see itinerary for details).
Driving Directionsfrom Idaho Falls Airport (IDA):
Driving time, approximately 45 minutes.
Exit airport and continue straight for 1.4 miles.
Turn left on Broadway and proceed 1.3 miles.
Turn left on N. Yellowstone (US 26).
Proceed on US 26 eastbound, approximately 40 miles.
Shortly after mile-marker 371, turn left on Conant Valley Road.
Turn right at stop sign to South Fork Lodge.
Driving Directions from Jackson Hole Airport (JAC):
Driving time, approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes.
Exit airport and turn right on US 89/26 to Jackson, WY.
At the Jackson town square, turn right, following US 89/26.
Proceed approximately 3 miles, turn right on WY 22 to Wilson, WY.
Proceed on WY 22 over Teton Pass to Victor, ID.
At the flashing light, turn left on ID 31 to Swan Valley, ID, approximately 30 miles.
At the Swan Valley intersection, turn right on US 26.
Proceed approximately 4 miles.
Shortly after mile-marker 372, turn right on Conant Valley Road.
Turn right at stop sign to South Fork Lodge.

Travel Cash:
Cash is required for tipping guides. The lodge happily takes credit cards for all other charges.
Gratuities:
We recommend guide gratuities of between $40.00 and $60.00 per guide per day payable in cash to your guide at the conclusion of each fishing day.
Fishing Licenses:
Fishing licenses are not included. Please be prepared to pay for these on-site with cash or credit card.
Climate:
Temperatures typically range from the mid 50’s to the mid 90’s. In the summer it is usually quite warm during the day and cool in the evening. However, it is important for guests to be prepared for cold rainy conditions throughout the season.
Medical Facilities:
The closest medical facility is in Idaho Falls, approximately 45 minutes from the lodge. Guests have the responsibility to disclose any special medical, physical, or dietary needs to the lodge ahead of time.
Power and Communications:
All rooms have high speed wireless internet.
Clothing:
In the Rockies it is always possible to encounter a wide variety of weather conditions. We recommend that you always come well prepared with different layers including lightweight long sleeve and short-sleeved shirts, fleece top and bottoms, rain jacket, sun and rain hats and fishing gloves. Evening attire at the lodge is casual.
Laundry:
Laundry machines are available for guests’ use while staying at the lodge.
Beverages/Alcohol:
South Fork Lodge has a well-stocked bar. Be prepared to pay for this on-site.
Tackle/Equipment List:
Rods: 9 foot rods for 4 - 6 weight lines.
Lines:Floating lines, weight forward or double tapered.
Reels: Any quality single action fly real with 50 yards of 20 lb backing.
Leaders: 9 ft to 12 ft leaders in 4x - 6x. Bring additional tippet in the same diameters.
Flies: The South Fork is a dry fly river and the guides are quite serious about patterns to match local species. South fork Outfitters have a well-stocked fly shop located next to the Lodge. Bring your fly boxes with you and expect your guide to pick out some local favorites for you. If you love to tie flies and would like to tie some for this trip give us a call and we can give you some suggestions.
Waders & Boots: Lightweight breathable waders are recommended however this time of year it is possible to wet wade as it is often quite warm and the majority of your time is spent in the boat. Neoprene socks are recommended when wet wading. Please, no studded wading boots.
