Location:
The Bulkley River Lodge is located on the banks of the Bulkley, roughly 40km upstream of Smithers, BC.

Fishing Program:
The Bulkley River is a Skeena River tributary and is considered one of the best steelhead fly fishing rivers in the world. From late August through mid-October, the Bulkley is as good a dry fly and greased line fly fishery as exists. As the season progresses and water temperatures drop, anglers spend more time fishing light type III and VI sink tips. The steelhead fishing can remain excellent through the second week in November and later if water conditions permit. Bulkley river steelhead are known for their willingness to move to a fly and range from 4 to 25+ pounds, with the average steelhead typically weighing in around 10 pounds. Jet boats, drift boats and rafts are employed to access water, but all fly fishing is done while wading. All Bulkley river steelhead are wild and must be released unharmed as quickly as possible.

During a week stay, anglers will at times depart from the lodge by jet boat and at other times they will drive to more distant locations before putting in. Bulkley River Lodge guides are experienced, personable professionals. The vast majority of Bulkley river anglers use spey rods.
