No See Um Lodge
Alaska

Nestled on a private bluff overlooking the Kvichak River, No-See-Um Lodge has ranked among the finest Alaskan fly-out fly fishing operations for over 25 years. Anglers access all of the Katmia/Iliamna region’s finest trout waters with the help of experienced pilots, professional guides, impeccably maintained floatplanes, and countless jet boats stashed away on all the best systems. So whether you are drawn to the region by the allure of walk and wading small systems, or drifting the mighty Kvichak for massive rainbows, know that No See Um has set the standard for excellence by which other Alaskan lodges are measured.
The guest houses have full complimentary bars, each complete with twin beds and private bathrooms. The lodge is centrally heated, and each bedroom has an excellent view of the river. In addition to exceptional cuisine, the lodge has 24-hour electricity, phone service, a classic wood fire sauna, and a modern hot tub. Come and experience firsthand the incredible fly fishing and unsurpassed service that have exceeded the expectations of discriminating fly fishers the world over. Spaces are limited so early reservations are required.
Location:
No See Um Lodge is located 30 miles downstream of Lake Iliamna on the Kvichak River in the Bristol Bay region of Southwest Alaska.
Fishing Program:
No See Um Lodge offers the finest fly-out fly fishing that Alaska has to offer. This outstanding Alaskan fly fishing lodge takes only twelve guests each week and their aircraft now include three DeHaviland Beavers. While their fly fishing program centers around the rainbow fishery of the greater Iliamna/Katmai region, guests also have ample opportunity to fly fish for arctic char, Dolly Varden, grayling, and all five species of Pacific salmon (though rarely are all species available during any single week). The lodge strives to have one guide for every two anglers and typically a good deal of walking and wading is expected to reach the best spots. Alternatively, jet boats are used for transportation on several systems. At times anglers will fly fish from the boats, but the majority of fishing is done while wading. Some days may require considerable hiking for those who are willing and able.
Unlike most fly-out lodges, No See Um planes stay with clients all day long and are flown by experienced pilot guides. Upon request, some salmon can be frozen and taken home, but catch and release is encouraged.
Accommodations and Meals
The lodge is built on a high bank overlooking the Kvichak River. There have actually been salmon caught from the deck near the Jacuzzi. Several buildings comprise the lodge. The main guest house has a total of four bedrooms, each with two twin beds and a complete bathroom. All bedrooms have an excellent view of the river. A lounge with bar and woodstove enhance the comfortable setting. There are also two private double occupancy cabins. The entire lodge is centrally heated. After a full day of fishing, you can enjoy the relaxing and friendly atmosphere at the lodge while sipping a beverage or cocktail of your choice as you sample delicious appetizers before dinner. Gourmet meals are prepared by their world class chef, and almost any special need, with a little advance notice, can be accommodated. Fresh breads, rolls and desserts are baked daily in the bakery. Select red and white wines are served with dinner. The wood sauna is fired up daily and the Jacuzzi is always hot. Nightly activities include fishing (in front of the lodge), horseshoes, volleyball, cards, fly tying or video tapes of the day's fishing. Their willingness to provide for their guests has put the No See Um Lodge in a class by itself. The lodge does not have hair dryers but does provide soap and shampoo.
