Very rarely are we presented with an experience so unique that we stumble in describing it. This is one. At its core is a 150ft. state of the art mother ship built exclusively to explore the boundless wilderness of Southern Chile’s largely unexplored fjords. Equipped with a Bell 407 helicopter, and 6 custom jet boats, their mission is to experience the angling bounty and ecological wonders of Chile’s most remote reaches by air, land and sea.
With 32 crew members dedicated to serving 18 anglers and 10 non anglers, this operation provides the highest level of service and employs the latest and safest technology to access regions that have rarely if ever seen a human, let alone a guided angler. And while the term extreme fly fishing has been used liberally in the past, Nomads of the Seas is here to deliver exactly that.
Designed with luxury in mind, guests enjoy world class cuisine, daily wine tasting, complete spa service and double occupancy cabins with exterior views and private baths. While fly fishing is a major focus, soft adventures including hiking, whale watching, birding and nature photography are all approached with the same eye for quality. Be among the
first to experience the virgin coastline of Chile in an angling and eco adventure that promises to be in a class by itself.

Nomads of the Seas Region:
With over 250 million acres of impressive geography, Patagonia still remains as one of the rare corners on the planet yet to be discovered, keeping its invaluable treasures and exquisite biodiversity for the few who venture to discover and appreciate them.
This voyage to the central-southern and southern areas of Chilean Patagonia covers over 1111 kilometers/600 nautical miles from the bay of Puerto Montt (latitude 41°S and longitude 72°W) to the Taitao peninsula (latitude 46°S and longitude 73°W).
This unique journey through the hidden Patagonia area enlightens you with multiple streams, creeks, glaciers, volcanoes, jungle forests, rivers, lagoons and lakes; endless and unexplored spots yet to be discovered in this geological mosaic. This gifted land offers a superb combination of blending glaciers, snowcapped peaks, summits and volcanoes of the southern Andes with luxuriant cold jungle forest.
Nomads of the Seas Fishing Program:
The fly fishing guides speak English and are highly trained in fly fishing techniques
as well as safety. The expedition manager reviews the day´s activities in advance and
makes adjustments to the next day’s schedule accordingly. The anglers will have the
opportunity to fish with a variety of different guides through out the course of the week.
Flies are currently banned by the Chilean government so we suggest to NOT bring
along your feather flies so that they don´t get confiscated once you enter the country.
Synthetic flies are suggested. Nevertheless, on board the Atmosphere there are hand-made flies that can be purchased.
Nomads of the Seas relies on its cutting edge aero-maritime transport system consisting of a Bell 407 helicopter, 6 jet-boats, a Hurricane 920 RIB zodiac, and other lesser watercrafts such as zodiacs and catacrafts. Meanwhile, 36 McKenzie boats and 12 jetskiffs are placed in strategic spots of the Patagonia, readily available for fishing trips in deeper territory. This equipment allows anglers to explore the most secluded rivers, lagoons and mountains, some of them lying untouched and unseen, waiting to be discovered.
Please note that the helicopter is not of exclusive use by the guests because the helicopter is used during the day to scout new areas, transport watercrafts, and provide other operational tasks needed in order to be always improving the guest experiences. The helicopter is considered to be a tool that takes and brings the guests to the best fishing spots in the expedition area. These excursions have a scheduled drop off and pick up time, and any extra request shall be attended to according to availability and extra costs. This extra operational cost shall be billed to the guest that requested the service.
An angler could find during this trip: rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout,
steelhead trout, sea run brown trout, land and locked salmon and Chinook. Please keep in mind that the quality of the catch not only depends on climate conditions and personal talent, but on air pressure, temperature, moon and general water conditions.
Guests shall fish on different places whether it be a river, lake or lagoon. The amount of
fishermen per spot is determined by different factors such as security, technical aspects
and sustainability. In many occasions fishing along with a group of friends is difficult.
Our expedition is designed to take you to unreached areas, so fishing is done quite
privately. If the weather is bad and rivers are not fishable we normally explore options in lakes and lagoons.
Nomads of the Seas Eco Tour Adventure Program:
The ecotourism guides are top of the notch. Most of them are biologists who have
conducted several researches in this area and are quite trained for spotting cetaceans,
birds and other species.
Many of the excursions are in the rich rainforest along the coast. In this environment
guest can see unusual plants, birds and geographical features. Occasionally, the guides
will take guests on an excursion to a nearby local site, hot spring or small village
depending on the location of the ships course.
Among the many activities available for the ecotourism excursion are whale watching, dolphin watching, bird watching, nature photography, and soft outdoor adventures such as trekking, kayaking, jetboating, rafting and horseback riding. These activities are
carried out with all the safety measures applicable and in a breath taking surroundings that only the exquisite nature of the Patagonia can provide. However, please note that all these excursions are subject to climate and atmosphere conditions.
For these excursions the Zodiac Hurricane 920 RIB is available, which is a specialized
watercraft designed to successfully navigate all sea and weather conditions. The RIB is the main means of transportation for this trip and it is perfect for exploring the coasts for sea birds, whales, dolphins and more. This watercraft was conceived for military operations and is equipped with all safety and maneuvering elements to juggle trying circumstances. Each seat was built with an independent shock absorption system to ensure a pleasant and safe navigation.

Each day aboard the Atmosphere is unique and different. The specific programs are defined between 12 and 24 hours in advance, so that fishing and wildlife expeditions can take into account immediate climatic conditions and other relevant factors such as cetacean location, fish behavior and tides, among others. Day by day, routes are studied and defined so there is no such a specific track, tailored in order to provide the very best experience.

On board the Atmosphere there is a no shoes policy. Nomads supplies antiskid sleepers, available in your cabins. We recommend bringing some non-soled slippers or thick socks to wear in the common areas, just in case.
Nomads of the Seas Meals and Alcohol:
Nomads of the Seas is the gateway to a unique and yet unexplored gastronomy: Patagonian cuisine. Its repertoire includes fish such as salmon, grouper and hake; shellfish like abalone, sea urchin, krill and king crab. Red meats include lamb, beef and also a few game birds. To all these the chef adds a wide variety of Chilean products that grow in its Mediterranean climate, for example, olive oil, eggplants, tomatoes, corn (maize), mote, goat and ewe cheese, to name a few. He also takes endemic products of the north of Chile, like the cereal used to feed the Incas, known as quinoa. Guests will be able to share preparations such as antipasto, pickled quail, duck confit, and shrimp in a wide array of presentations.
Another invitation will be to experience a “Patagonian Patache”, which in Spanish means “an abundant meal”. This time the spotlight will be on a crustacean present in the south of Chile: the king crab, whose delicate flavor allows for different side dishes. Dinner will be served with Antarctic krill, with an unusual flavor and multiple benefiting properties since it is rich in essential amino acids, minerals and oligoelements.
Mid-week, Nomads offers its passengers a second Patache, this time inviting them to discover the best of local food, offering a wide array of Chilean preparations. Dinner starts off with a delicious appetizer: empanadas filled with meat and onions, shellfish or oregano and cheese, followed by a menu of different dishes to choose from, which includes king crab humitas with tomato pebre, a cilantro based seafood stew, and a red wine beef stew with native-style cooked beans. The menu is crowned by two typical Chilean desserts: papaya ice cream and mote con huesillos (a beverage made from husked wheat mixed with sun-dried peaches). All these preparations are perfectly paired with wines chosen from different Chilean varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon for reds, Sauvignon Blanc for whites and Pinot Noir, considered to be one of the most elegant
and international red grape varieties.
Activities programmed outside Atmosphere will also include Nomads characteristic preparations. Whether guests are descending rivers, walking near impressive glaciers or horseback riding along the coast, lunch and snacks will always have that gourmet touch. The options are many: spit-roasted lamb, food prepared on the traditional Chilean disc or delicious sandwiches. The best wines will not stay aboard the Atmosphere, since forests, lakes and rivers of Patagonia create the perfect setting for their enjoyment.
