Louisiana Redfishing

Louisiana

Come enjoy the best red fishery in the world. Your guide will pole to the ends of the earth where big fish live... where world records have been caught... and will continue to be broken!

From the Biloxi Marsh, all the way down to Venice, Louisiana, our guides will take you on the redfish trip of a life time. Redfish and black drum are the targeted species, with fish exceeding 50 pounds, it truly is “The Land of Giants”.

Huge fish in 1-3 feet of clean water is where you will find yourself when taking this trip. You will be poled around in technical skiffs looking for every fish you present a fly to. On an average day you can expect to catch 5-10 fish when conditions cooperate, and 15-25 fish days are not uncommon including exceptional days up to 50 fish. The areas you fish are truly in wilderness and you will rarely see other anglers on the water.

Redfishing Location:
The marshes you will be fishing are within an hour’s drive of New Orleans, LA.

Redfishing Fishing Program:
Your fishing captain will pick you up outside of your hotel early in the morning. After driving about 45 minutes to the boat ramp you will head out for your day of fishing for redfish.

Fishing is from modern skiffs equipped with poling and elevated casting platforms and sight casting to big, feeding fish in knee-deep water. The guides specialize in sight fishing, no blind casting. The marsh areas that you will fish are true wilderness areas. You rarely see another boat, much less another fisherman! Guides also offer offshore fishing for tuna, cobia, and other pelagic species.
