Just in from South Fork Lodge & Outfitters:
The stars have aligned and August is already proving to be one of the best months EVER! Hopper-dropper time is fast approaching! The South Fork is a very beginner friendly river, and this month is great for beginner fisherman to get “hooked” on dry fly fishing! The flows are dropping to the 11,000 cfs level providing top-water action with PMD’s, various stoneflies, and soon terrestrials and caddis. Make sure to keep a good selection of emerger patterns in your box and you will be rewarded with the pickier fish! Keep an eye out for mutant stones later this month, and don’t be afraid to cast streamers in the early morning and late evening. As usual, nymphing rubber legs trailed by a bead head pheasant tail, prince, two bit hooker, or copper john will produce fish.
