This just in from guide extraordinaire Jesse Robbins at 4UR Ranch in Colorado:
“I’ve attached some pics from the past several weeks. Some nice fish in there. We had an epic drake hatch this season, lasting for two solid weeks. It was pretty much clockwork every day, around 930 or 10 they’d come out and the fish would go nuts. Then right around 11:30 the hatch would stop and we wouldn’t see fish rising anymore. So we’d switch over to PMDs and the bite would continue. Run off was pretty easy compared to other reports around the west. Our water levels are great right now, if maybe a bit low. We’ve got lots of caddis around now as well as PMDs still. Hopper and hopper-dropper rigs are also catching fish on a consistent basis. Multiple 20″ fish are being caught every week, with some pushing the 25″ mark. Streamer fishing in our ponds and Lost Lakes continues to be very effective.”
