With the season upon us we wanted to give all our loyal steelheaders a quick update on the conditions. The steelhead return to the Skeena system is basically slightly below average. To see the stats in greater detail please have alook at the following Tyee Index provided by the Steelhead Alliance. After a long, hot, relatively low-water summer the region has been getting a fair amount of rain over the last three weeks. This has bumped water levels favorably but impaired visibility on some systems. The rivers around Terrace including the Copper and the main Skeena are a bit of a mess but should be starting to improve. The forecast moving forward for the next 14 days is a mix of showers, clouds and sunshine in equal parts. Pretty good all things considered. So once again pack the big flies the little flies, the dries and the wets, your Scandi lines and Skagit heads and most importantly your good luck charms and positive attitudes because the time of year so many of dream about all year long is here.
