The Bulkley Basecamp is a new under-the-radar program created by Derek Botchford, owner of Frontier Farwest Lodge. At its core, this operation is the single most versatile/agile operation in the Skeena watershed, enabling guests easy driving access to the lower Bulkley and Skeena near Hazelton, as well as more involved access to the Morice, Babine and upper Skeena. For anglers keen to charter a helicopter during their stay, this program is truly in a class by itself offering guests the ability to go where the fishing is best during their stay. Bulkley Basecamp consists of a complex of wall tents with a large safari style tent serving as the main dining/cook tent. Anglers will sleep two per wall tent within earshot of the river. This camp will be limited to six anglers per week and is almost too comfortable to be called a “camp”.
