Clackamas River Lodge
The Clackamas River begins as a high alpine stream in the northern Oregon Cascade Mountains before it descends over eighty miles to the west where it eventually meets the tidally influenced Willamette River in Oregon City. Known locally as the “Clack”, it drains the forests, springs and snowmelt of the western Cascadian ridgeline between Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. This cold, clear, nutrient-rich water is perfect habitat for many fish species, both resident and anadromous. The river’s classic and seductive water along with its chrome bright steelhead are all conveniently close to the Portland Airport.

Fly Water Travel’s own David Kalinowski will be on hand to host a group of four anglers interested in swinging flies through the seductive runs of the “Clack”. This is a full lodging package with comfortable accommodations, gourmet meals and guided fishing via jet boat on the steelhead waters of the Clackamas River. The Clackamas River Lodge sits on the banks of the river and is an easy to reach venue with numerous and convenient flights to/from Portland, OR. Once at the lodge, everything will be taken care of. The Clackamas is a stable fishery that rarely blows out and even at higher water fishes well as there are numerous soft inside seams to cover with the swung fly. The guides at Fish the Swing know this water well and will have guests fishing the best water with the right gear and at the right time. With the jet boats right out front, their use allows anglers to search many river miles and finding good water is never a concern.
