Jurassic Lake Lodge, Argentina
We just received the first report of the season from head guide Llewellyn Claven at Jurassic Lake Lodge. Sounds like the season is off to an excellent beginning!
With over 6,000 rainbow trout landed during the first two weeks of the season, the river flowing with excellent water level and the mountains full of snow, the 2017-18 couldn’t have a better start.
In the opening week, plenty of great chrome fish were caught and the dry fly fishing was amazing with anglers getting some of the best and biggest fish on hoppers and having the chance to caught fantastic fish on mouse patterns. The weather was overcast and slightly on the windy side but that brought the chrome fish into the bay and good numbers where caught. The groups had some outstanding fishing in the river and in the lake.
The second week started with very light winds and made the fishing more challenging. With an increased amount of water flow in the river made dry fly fishing quite a challenge with terrestrials but streamers brought plenty of fish to the net. The biological study we’ve been doing the past few seasons is in play with fish getting tagged and set free.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more reports soon!
