Jan 18th, 2018
Due to a cancellation, Plummer’s sought after Tree River Exclusive program is wide open for Aug. 18-25, 2018. This is the only week of the year where fly anglers keen on targeting the the world’s largest sea-run Arctic char can spend the vast majority of their stay on the remarkable Tree River. Most guests at Plummer’s get a max of two days on the Tree with the rest of their days spent on Great Bear Lake. This package will have you walking and wading the mighty Tree for four full days and two partial days. During this time of year the Char will be in full spawning colors, giving anglers a great chance to hold what many consider to be the most beautiful freshwater fish in the world.
Tree River Camp
The Tree River Camp is a rustic wall-tent camp that is accessed by float plane from Plummer’s Lodge. While it can sleep upwards of 12 guests, they will reduce occupancy to six for this week. The tents can sleep up to four anglers per tent and have heat, electric lights and a plug in for charging. There are multiple outhouses, hot showers and a main dining building where meals are served. Much of the best fishing is located upstream of the lodge and anglers must be good hikers to reach these waters. Most of the fishing is short line pocket water fishing with weighted streamers, nymphs and, at times, egg patterns. The fish can be over twenty pounds and are strong beautiful creatures. They can be tough to catch in direct sunlight and are often finicky late in the season when they are in peak spawning colors. The river and region are very spectacular and it is a unique and wonderful experience.
