You’re invited to join Rob Ramsay next summer at two of the very best locations in the world to chase juvenile tarpon on the fly. Rob will be spending the first week at Isla Del Sabalo approximately 60 miles north of Campeche and then transferring to Tarpon Cay Lodge for a second week in San Felipe. Each week has 5 double occupancy spots available. Guests are invited to join Rob on this unique two week trip to the Yucatan Peninsula and experience two different lodges and locations.

In general, Isla Del Sabalo is a more remote and rustic operation with a less consistent fishery, however, this location does hold more home-run potential when conditions are right. Isla Del Sabalo can offer some of the best tarpon fishing found anywhere in the world. Tarpon Cay Lodge is less rustic and features a more consistent fishery with good opportunities to catch fish on the surface, quality boats and guides, and angler-friendly split shift fishing schedules. Both operations are fantastic and compliment each other very well.

The beauty of both of these fisheries lies in the fact that abundant opportunities exist to chase fish in very shallow, clear water. Anglers will sight fish with floating lines to rolling fish, nervous water, wakes, pushes and sometimes a limited amount of blind casting in likely spots. Top water takes can be ferocious and at times schools of fish in the 100’s can be seen milling in the surface. Whether you are a rank tarpon newbie or a veteran, it’s hard to deny the fun of chasing and focusing on this incredible species on the fly.
