Turneffe Flats Lodge, Belize
Turneffe Flats Lodge currently has 8 rods available for March 2 – 9, which is the last big block of space available during prime spring months. This is historically one of the most popular times to take a trip to Turneffe Flats Lodge due to the wonderful opportunities for permit and bonefish, and because its the perfect time to escape the winter up north for a week in paradise!
For years Turneffe Flats has been known as one of the Caribbean’s premier saltwater fly fishing destinations. The diversity of their saltwater flats fishing sets them apart from other destinations and the opportunity to catch bonefish, permit and tarpon on a given day makes Turneffe Flats one of the rare spots to pursue a “Flats Grand Slam,” the landing of all three species in a single day. At Turneffe Flats, you will be guided by experienced, knowledgeable, English-speaking guides. With an average of more than 20 years guiding on the flats, their fly fishing guides are some of the most experienced and dedicated flats guides in the Caribbean.
The social center for Turneffe Flats Lodge is their centrally air-conditioned main lodge, which includes a dining area and bar. A pre-dinner gathering for hors d’oeuvres, drinks and conversation is customary. The large breezy verandah is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the evening. The lodge accommodations include eight large guest rooms located on the beach plus two large three-bedroom villas. Their sea-side rooms have a panoramic view of the Caribbean and Turneffe Atoll reef. Turneffe Flats prides itself in providing quality dining complete with fresh fruits, fresh seafood and fresh baked pastries. Meals are served family-style in the main lodge and are a tasty combination of Belizean and American dishes. There is a very nice area to swim and snorkel in front of the lodge and we recommend that everyone take a little time during his or her stay to do some snorkeling.
