Blue Horizon, Belize
Due to a last minute cancellation, there are two double occupancy spaces in premier ocean cabanas available for a 6 night/5 day stay at Thatch Caye at 15% off. See below for more details.

Thatch Caye is a small private-island situated about nine miles to the southeast of Dangriga, Belize. The main lodge and surrounding guest bungalows combine a perfect blend of rustic adventure appeal with luxurious comfort. The over-water accommodations offer an exciting and unique experience where one can enjoy a morning cup of coffee while scanning the flat for tailing permit. Thatch Caye provides the closest jumping off point for some of the best permit flats in Belize. Guests may also enjoy swimming, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, diving, bluewater fishing or simply relaxing on a beautiful sandy beach.

The Blue Horizon fishing program is centered around a team of seasoned guides headed up by legendary permit guide Lincoln Westby. The guides will either pick you up at your accommodations or will stay in and around the same complex. Anglers fish two per boat with a single guide. While most of the flats in this area are hard enough to wade, Blue Horizon guides prefer to minimize the impact that wade fishing has on the sensitive┬ácoral ecosystem by fishing from the boat. Over the years, they’ve determined that more fish are caught from the boat as the fish are less aware of the presence of anglers.
