Deschutes River Jet Boat Camp
Two spots remain in a prime window for a lower Deschutes jet boat camp trip hosted by David Kalinowski of Fly Water Travel. These dates are within the prime window of the steelhead migration and coincide with some of the best weather in the lower Deschutes canyon. A guided overnight jet boat trip on the lower Deschutes with the Renton family is one of the most unique experiences in the steelhead angling world. The high desert canyon offers incredible scenery, a remote feel, consistent weather and a run of aggressive summer steelhead. Guided jet boat trips are done on the lower 25 miles of the Deschutes River, where motorized boats are allowed for limited days during the prime window of July through September 30. After September 30th there are no restrictions on motorized boats. To make these trips possible, guides Dillon and David Renton operate under All Star Rafting’s permit to operate jet boat trips of the highest quality. The Renton family has dedicated decades to learning and guiding the Deschutes. The foundation of this family-run outfitting business centers on incredible camps, great food, and a deep commitment to quality instruction. A comfortable base camp will be set up before guests arrive. From there, guests will set out to spey fish some of the most unique steelhead water in the West.
