Dear Friends and Travelers,
As we move more deeply into a new social reality created by the COVID-19 crisis, we hope that you and your family remain safe, healthy and cared for in these trying times. While not much time has passed, it feels like we have already been through a lot. Our tolerance for confinement is limited, our desire to socialize is strong and our dreams to travel freely and fish the waters of the world remain insuppressible. Still, the fact of the matter is that we are heading deep into uncharted waters.
One thing that we have learned over the past weeks of canceling virtually every upcoming fresh or saltwater trip around the world is that we not only need one another but, more importantly, we need to be good to one another. We have been involuntarily thrown together into a difficult situation that is the fault of no one in particular and the challenge of all of us specifically. This event is the greatest social upheaval since World War II, and like war, there will be degrees of pain, loss, and suffering for everyone involved. And also like war, there is an incredible opportunity for us to come together and show the good of humanity. As an old proverb says, “adversity reveals character”. Our experience with all of you over the past weeks has confirmed this simple truth and we are so appreciative to have had the opportunity to work through issues and in many cases, less-than-perfect outcomes with guests of such exceptional character. Like it or not, we are in this together, and only together will we emerge into the light of brighter days.
Thanks again for placing your trust in us and know that despite these incredibly challenging circumstances, we feel truly fortunate to have the opportunity to interact with such a great group of compassionate and understanding people. Most of the Fly Water team is working remotely at the moment, but you can reach us the same ways you always have, by email or phone during our normal business hours. Whether you need to discuss an upcoming trip that may be impacted, inquire about a future adventure, or simply say hello and tell us a good fish story from your recent “socially distant” outing to the river, we look forward to hearing from you. Email us at email@example.com or call (800) 552-2729.
Lastly, as a way to help us all cope with the times, below are links to some articles, videos and recent trip reports. We hope you find them to be interesting, inspiring and a reminder of all the fishing that lies ahead.
