After a few months of bright, summer sun and hot, dry weather, September in the Rockies brings the cool – both in the weather and the water. The changing seasons has a dramatic effect on the fishing, and for the better! As water temperatures drop, fish become more active, and start to put on calories in preparation for fall spawning and/or the upcoming winter. Insects are on the move as well and new, fall hatches attract the attention of these reinvigorated trout. Anglers are rewarded for fishing this time of year for all these reasons, not to mention the fact that many other guests have gone home for the season! Below is a list of our favorite September Rockies destinations with availability.
