Belize is set to reopen for tourism October 1, 2020. Originally planned for a scheduled reopening of August 15, the date was pushed back due to rising COVID-19 infections stemming from the arrival of an illegal border crossing. Numbered infections are currently somewhere around the 200 mark for the country and appear to be on the decline.
Resorts in Belize that meet a rigorous “Gold Standard” schedule for COVID-19 safety and protocol will be allowed to reopen. Turneffe Flats is among the first such qualified resorts and has good availability for the Fall. This has been a long and tedious process to determine the safest way to move forward and we believe the current plan is among the best in the world at this time.
