The hot days of summer are making their slow progression to fall, and with that come cooler nights, brilliant colors and revived trout. For those looking to lock in one more fly fishing adventure in 2020, the Rockies are a great option as flights are domestic and oftentimes, the destination can be reached by car. Below you’ll find up-to-date traveler’s information by state, plus our favorite destinations in each.

Colorado: There are no travel restrictions for the state at this time, non-residents who are traveling to the state are asked to take all measures possible to follow social distancing guidelines. Lodges are open and taking reservations. The morning fishing has been excellent and fish have been taking advantage of cool evening temperatures. There have been wildfires reported in the Northern part of the state, the below lodges are not affected.
El Rancho Pinoso
● October 9 – 16: Entire Ranch – 4 to 8 guests
Montana: Fly fishing and guide services are open and taking reservations, due to state mandated policies, masks must be worn indoors. With cooler evenings and a recent cold snap, fishing has picked up. Morning hatches are consistent and some terrestrials are still scattered across the state.
● October 9 – 15: 4 guests
● October 12 – 15: 2 guests
● October 25 – 28: 4 guests
Wyoming: Wyoming is open to travelers, guide operations are open and taking reservations with capacity limitations. This is the time of year for exciting streamer fishing, and anglers using sub surface flies can look forward to an active day on the water.
North Platte Lodge

Canada – Currently Closed: The U.S./Canada border is closed at this time to international travel.
