EPIC's Alaska Wilderness SAFARI Alaska

You would think that in a state as large and wild as Alaska that finding a truly remote, ultra-scenic location absent of competing anglers would be easy. The fact of the matter is that such places remain rather rare and unique, especially when coupled with their own little world-class fisheries. The aptly named EPIC Alaska Wilderness SAFARI is one of these hidden gems that has it all.  Located on a pristine bay at the base of the Alaskan Peninsula and ringed by gorgeous snow-capped mountains, the SAFARI camp offers not only a stunning wilderness experience but some of the best fishing for sea bright salmon available.  Offering walk and wade access to river, estuary and saltwater habitats, this deluxe camp offers a combination of creature comforts and true wilderness that few can match.

Location:
EPIC's Alaska Wilderness SAFARI is located south of King Salmon, Alaska on the remote Alaska Peninsula.

Fishing Program:
The Alaska Wilderness SAFARI is owned and operated by EPIC Angling and Adventure. It is a sophisticated tent camp, offering IMAX worthy scenery and a diverse coastal location with four different types of water to fish– stream, tidal flat, beach and bay. The camp is located 1/3 of a mile from the salt water, making these salmon as fresh and bright as they come. Additionally, anglers enjoy a prolific sea-run Dolly fishery, and can even throw flies to halibut and rockfish (bay fishing is not the focus of the program, just a bonus). This program is an eco-diverse destination offering daily wildlife viewing, waterfall hikes, tide pools and beach combing, plus helicopter fly-out fishing during the later portion of the season when the silver salmon are running. The program is relaxed and guests are encouraged to discuss their desires and set their own schedule. With no competition from other lodges there is no need to rush to the fishing grounds to reserve your spot. The camp is suitable for kids, families and die-hard fisherman. The camp services a maximum of nine anglers each week.

Accommodations and Meals:
The EPIC Alaska Wilderness SAFARI camp offers heavy duty Weatherport tents. These double occupancy tents are warm and comfortable and are serviced each day by a staff member. Sleeping bags and cots are provided. The camp has solar power and can easily charge your camera battery if needed. There is a separate storage and drying tent for wet gear. The dining tent is spacious and guests eat family style. The meals consist of fresh salmon, halibut, rockfish and meats with side dishes. These are top notch meals in a truly rugged surrounding. There is a bath house with hot showers where guests can refresh after a hard day of reeling in fish.
