Eagle Valley Lodge is the newest addition to the treasure trove of private walk and wade trophy rainbow trout fisheries located in the remote and rugged Santa Cruz province of southern Patagonia. Our partners at Solid Adventures have extensively scouted and test-fished Eagle Valley over the past three years and are now ready to introduce this light tackle trout fishing paradise to the fly fishing community.
Location: The lodge is located in Santa Cruz province of Southern Argentina, it's roughly seven hours by vehicle from the town of El Calafate.
Fishing Program: Eagle Valley is part of a large private estancia that consists of two lakes connected by a 2 km long stream. The upper lake is deep with crystal clear water and the lower lake is shallow with off colored water. Fish in the 3 to 6-pound class are spread out between the lakes as well as throughout the stream and can be taken on a wide variety of fly fishing techniques. Everything from skated dry flies to fast retrieved streamers can bring great results. Anglers fish two per guide with quick access the fishing grounds by truck and on foot.
Accommodations and Meals: The brand-new lodge is strategically placed at the base of a large cliff to overlooking the valley's system of lakes and rivers. It is designed to sleep eight anglers in four simply appointed double occupancy rooms with private baths. There’s a central living and dining room with fireplace for guests to relax after long days on the water as well as a covered outdoor dining area for the weekly asado (barbecue). Their seasoned chef prepares a variety of hearty and healthy meals paired with a selection of regional wines.
