Erfalik Lodge, Greenland Europe

It has taken considerable time and effort to finally bring forward a comfortable full-service lodge in the remote wilderness of Greenland. Now, with the opening of Erfalik Lodge, guests can enjoy Greenland’s most productive Arctic char fishing without having to rough it. Here guests will enjoy single-occupancy rooms, 24-hour power, hot showers, and tasty three-course meals. More stable and consistent fishing is hard to come by and few if any have left this remarkable system disappointed.

Fishing Program:
Sea-run Arctic char are strong and stunningly beautiful fish. They come in many sizes, and depending on the timing of your trip, many colors.  The majority are in the 15 to 20-inch range but in a typical week anglers land a number of fish in the 24 to 30-inch range, with larger fish present. The home waters outside the lodge where the river meets the fjord as well the waters a few hundred meters upstream of the lodge where the river flows out of a lake can be very productive, but the best fishing is in the upper river above the lake. The outfitter has a boat anchored in the lake and guests can be motored across the lake or they can choose to hike around the lake fishing the mouths of several inlet streams along the way. In the upper river, large and plentiful Arctic char can be targeted with skated foam flies as well with brightly colored nymphs and streamers. Fishing can be done 24 hours a day at the beginning of the season and 20-22 hours a day late in the season, but most guests choose a more civilized fishing schedule and meet up for breakfast and dinner. Anglers may also target cod in the fjord near the lodge during high tide. It is recommended that guests be in good hiking shape as guests will have to hike 4 to 6-miles or more round-trip per day.

Accommodations and Meals:
The Erfalik Lodge is located on a bluff above the mouth of the pristine Erfalik River with a magnificent view overlooking the fjord. The lodge is simple yet comfortable and there is no other lodge like it in Greenland. The lodge, opened in 2019, boasts single rooms, hot showers, three-course meals, a spacious dining and lounge area, central heat and 24-hour power. Meals are hearty and simple but amazing considering the lodge's remote location. In the mornings, breakfast will be served, and guests will pack their own lunch for the day's adventure.  In the evenings, dinner will be served at the lodge.
