Intricate Bay Lodge Alaska

Intricate Bay Lodge was entirely rebuilt in 2014. The brand new facility has been constructed with no expense spared. This operation catering to only 10 guests prides itself on providing an intimate, personal and quality experience in the heart of Alaska’s Bristol Bay region. With fantastic fisheries nearby such as the Copper and Gibraltor, along with fly outs to all the favorites like Moraine, American, Talarik and others, you can expect to fill your stay with fantastic fishing while enjoying the luxury of new accommodations at a lodge you can nearly call your own. The facility itself sits on the shores of Lake Iliamna. With fantastic views of the lake from the stunning deck, which includes a wood burning hot tub, you will quickly see why owner and operator Brain Harry has so much passion for sharing his place with others.

Intricate Bay Lodge is located near the small village of Iliamna on the eastern shore of Lake Iliamna.

Fishing Program:
Located on the Eastern shore of Lake Iliamna, Intricate Bay Lodge provides easy access to some of the best wild rainbow trout found anywhere in the world. Nearby rivers like the Copper and Gibraltor are easily accessible via jet boat from the lodge and consistently produce great numbers of rainbow trout. Prolific fisheries such as Moraine, Funnel, Battle and American creek are reached by flying short distances from the lodge into Katmai National Park. The lodge offers day float trips on the upper Copper and flights over to the west side of Cook inlet for chum and silver salmon. Guests may also mix in great northern pike fishing on the sloughs and coves along the lake. The lodge can provide all the needed tackle for any of your fishing needs and with a staff that prides itself on providing a custom personal experience.

The Bristol Bay watershed boasts pristine wilderness, majestic views, enormous rainbow trout, five species of salmon, Arctic char, grayling, pike and trout, as well as the second largest national park in the United States. Katmai National Park consists of 4.2 million acres of virtually untouched wilderness where moose, caribou and wolves still roam freely. The greater Bristol Bay region is also the beat of the most productive wild salmon habitat on earth.  This inland migration of ocean-fed biomass underpins the health of the entire ecosystem.

Accommodations and Meals:
After a horrific fire that burned the original lodge to the ground in 2013, Intricate Bay Lodge owner and operator Brian Harry set out to rebuild. Sparing no expense, and with a great sense of providing guests with the most comfortable and accommodating lodge in the region, the new Intricate Bay Lodge was born in the summer of 2014. The lodge includes five double occupancy rooms with private baths along with a vaulted ceiling common area where guests can warm themselves around the stone fireplace while sharing stories of the big one that got away. Appetizers are served daily and you can enjoy your cocktail on the deck overlooking Lake Iliamna, the largest lake in the state. The kitchen is brand new with professional grade equipment and a professional chef that is ready to make your mouth water with fine dining. You may even have the chance to enjoy a wonderful BBQ outside on the deck, while propane heaters keep you cozy and warm. The lodge includes wireless internet and satellite TV, so guests can keep up to date with business or their favorite sports teams.
