K-T Ranch Fishing Program:
The legendary White River at the K-T Ranch is one of the most highly sought after trout fly fishing venues in Colorado. The K-T has an exceptional stretch, containing over four miles of the White River on the ranch. With an additional 3 miles of spring creeks and beaver ponds on the property, the incredible diversity of fly fishing opportunities that you’ll find here is impressive and stimulates anglers of all abilities.
Anglers access the river via 4 wheel drive vehicles and all fishing is done while wading. Although dedicated nymph fishermen will put up the biggest numbers most days, the White River enjoys prolific and varied hatches of aquatic insects that will stimulate dry fly anglers of all ability levels. Dry/dropper rigs are generally the most consistent and the late season terrestrial fishing will often provide the best all-day dry fly fishing of the year.
On an average day anglers can expect to catch a dozen fish that will average 14” – 17”. Fish over 20” are caught frequently and 24”+ trophy fish are encountered with enough regularity to make them a real possibility. Rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout will all be found in significant numbers. Guests wanting to target larger fish should concentrate their efforts on the trophy browns that swim in the spring creeks.
Horseback riding, nine hole golf, hiking.
