Located at the outflow of Lake Iliamna and the head of the Kvichak River, Igiugig Lodge provides easy access to some of the most powerful wild rainbow trout found anywhere in the world. Owner, pilot, and guide Brad Waitman has 30 years of experience flying in the Alaskan bush and guiding the waters of Bristol Bay. This small Alaskan lodge is a Fly Water Travel favorite for warm Alaskan hospitality, stellar fishing for super charged rainbows and its highly personalized experience. The staff here will work to ensure that you’re comfortable and that every detail of your experience is attended to.
The dates below are fantastic for the large steelhead-like Kvichak River rainbows. These dates offer the best streamer fishing of the year. Those interested in swinging flies with Spey rods find great joy in the steelhead-like takes and any angler interested in large rainbow trout will have opportunities to catch that prized 30-inch rainbow trout. Add two fly-out days to other Katmai Park trout systems and this destination stands out for having a well-rounded package with fantastic fishing.
